Are you looking for the ultimate beachy, minimalist kitchen essentials list? Then this is the perfect blog post for you!
Do you feel overwhelmed and stressed about everything you need to buy for your kitchen? Are you moving into your first apartment or home and need the ultimate kitchen essentials list but a minimal version? Then I have you covered!
Even though it’s easy to go onto Williams Sinoma and want to buy everything, you don’t need that many things in your kitchen to make it effective.
I am not a very big cook, so I simply want the essentials. At one point, I was to barebones and needed to buy a few things.
So, this list is a compilation of what I have found I need in my kitchen (with a few extras).
The Ultimate Minimalist Kitchen Essentials List
Cups
There are few things more fun than going to World Market and looking through all of the cute drinkware! When looking to create your perfect, minimalist kitchen, I don’t think you need to buy a huge set of cups.
Instead, choose about 4-8 drinking cups that you love. I prefer to mix and match my drinking cups because there are too many cute ones to choose from!
Anthropologie also has some great drinking cups!
Mugs
Mugs are a staple for the home. They are what you drink tea, coffee, hot chocolates, and other hot drinks from. I love mugs so much.
Anthropologie has some of the cutest mugs I have ever seen. They are beachy, colorful, fun, and perfect for your new home.
And yes, cute mugs are essential for a kitchen.
Plates (Lunch Size)
One of the best essentials for your kitchen is lunch-size plates.
Why lunch sized?
Because dinner plates can honestly take up more space and aren’t always necessary.
I only have lunch plates at my home, and they are perfectly fine.
You also naturally eat less when you have a smaller plate.
Silverware
Pretty silverware is underrated.
And yes, essential.
Honestly, try eating ice cream with a pretty spoon vs a normal spoon, and tell me you don’t enjoy it more.
Everything in your home should be a reflection of happiness, love, and beauty.
Find something that is in your favorite aesthetic, and buy that!
Good Quality Knife
Less is more.
Spend more money on one high-quality knife rather than spending the same amount to buy a whole set.
A lot of times, you won’t use everything that comes with a complete set.
You just need one great knife, and you will be set.
Cutting Board
Whether it’s a wood cutting board or plastic, find one that is a knife quality.
Creating a minimal kitchen isn’t about spending less; it’s about having only things that are necessary, spark joy, and are high-quality.
I have both a wood and plastic cutting board, and I have to say I prefer wood.
It’s prettier and works better.
Measuring Spoons
This is something I didn’t buy for a while, but eventually did.
If you want to do any baking, it really is good to have measuring spoons.
Sauce Pan
A good quality saucepan is a must for your minimalist kitchen.
Stainless Steel is my go-to choice.
This is a great choice for your kitchen!
Cast-Iron Skillet
Pot
If you want to make pasta, soup, or things like that, you will need a pot.
Stainless Steel is my personal favorite.
It is better to spend more on a high-quality pan than to spend less on a whole set of 8 pans that you won’t use most of.
One solid pot is really all you need for your minimalist kitchen.
Glass Storage Containers
Glass is better than plastic because it’s healthier.
I also prefer glass containers because it is more aesthetically pleasing.
I hope you enjoyed this post on the minimalist kitchen essentials list!
